Mayda Creative Co. had built an incredibly fast, graphic, loud film, and it needed big sound design to match. The mix is big, loud and crunchy, using heavy saturation and clipping to get there.

To tie the sound to the music, we treated many of the sound effects the way the track treats its own elements, using modern production techniques like flanging. We recorded the voices for the main characters, then pitched them up and down, flanged them and added reverb.

The film is full of playful transitions you rarely get to work on. Two favourites are the basketball dribbling sequence under “it may rapidly affect your mindset”, and the baseball pitch, where a laughing voice and multiple heads follow through to the can.
